Manager of Ad Innovation and Programmatic Solutions, Turner Broadcasting Systems
Clennon is as heavily involved outside the industry as she is at Turner, serving as a member of the Advertising Research Foundation Young Pros and sitting on the ARF advisory board. Within the organization, she’s taken on a leadership role by supporting the development of event schedules and managing industry leaders on site. She’s also an active member of Color Comm, the nationwide organization for women of color in media and communications. Her day job also keeps her busy as she has taken on additional leadership roles at Turner by developing the agenda for the Turner Ad Lab advisory board and becoming the lead for the CES microsite she helped develop. “We are currently working in an industry that is constantly evolving. It’s particularly exciting to live in this age of booming technology and growth, where you are able to directly contribute, fail fast, and drive innovations that may outlive you,” she said.
The first social platform or website you visit after waking up in the morning? I open the Instagram app as soon as I open my eyes in the morning, to stay updated on what my friends, family and favorite brands have been up to. After that, I typically read either Cynopsis or Business Insider to get quick morning updates on current industry news and the marketplace.
What sort of culture is important to you in the workplace? A culture of inclusion and diversity is vital to the workplace. In order to produce the best content, products and advertising, you must have a representative team where everyone’s perspectives, backgrounds, experiences and ideas are both welcomed and appreciated.
What is the most exciting thing about working in this industry? We are currently working in an industry that is constantly evolving. It’s particularly exciting to live in this age of booming technology and growth, where you are able to directly contribute, fail fast, and drive innovations that may outlive you. I’m also excited to see where we are in the next 5-10 years as the industry continues to move at an exponential pace.
