Bigalow and her team are responsible for developing multiplatform marketing initiatives that enhance partnerships between the company and its content distributors. Under her leadership, the Fox Networks distribution marketing team earned numerous Promax/BDA Awards and CTAM Mark Awards. Along with a hectic work schedule, Bigalow makes time to volunteer at her children’s school. She looks no further than her own network to cite an example of ground-breaking programming for women. “I am really proud of Fox’s new show, ‘Pitch,’ for breaking gender barriers and creating a story about the first female pitcher in the MLB,” Bigalow says.
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
As a teenager growing up in the 80s in Oklahoma, I would undoubtedly tell myself that it’s not necessary to use so much Aqua Net. But more importantly, and something I’m working to instill in my own daughter, is to be courageous and make your voice heard.
Which current programming best reflects the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?
I am really proud of Fox’s new show, “Pitch,” for breaking gender barriers and creating a story about the first female pitcher in the MLB.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
It’s hard to pick just one, we are fortunate to work in an industry that is constantly evolving and challenging us to think differently at every turn.
