Network execs still trying to capture Spanish-speaking viewers may want to take a lesson from Hernández. Runaway telenovelas like “La Patrona” and the hit reality competition “La Voz Kids” rocketed the network to ratings and viewer records. When the dust settled, Hernández had turned Telemundo into one of the fastest growing broadcast networks in primetime. Yet what’s success without the sales? In his first Upfront leading Telemundo Media, Rosen stacked up record numbers in 2013, bringing aboard more than 20 new advertisers and double-digit volume growth. Plenty of success to go around, it appears.
