With oversight of all original scripted and unscripted programming, de Crinis oversees the stable of shows that has led USA to perform as the leading cable network. Known for being direct and honest, de Crinis also shows compassion, whether delivering good news or bad news, which allows for strong relationship-building and loyalty. Show-running is the biggest growth area for women in cable, she says. Outside of work, she has two tips for unwinding: playing tennis and taking a hot bath. “Ideally, both.”

 

Where are the biggest growth areas for women in cable?

Show-running. There are simply not enough female show runners in the business.

 

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

Honesty. Share your stories and the lesson you’ve learned.

 

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?   At work, conversation and collaboration. Outside the office, Simplicity. I love an uncluttered environment. I find beauty and inspiration in minimalism–everything from food, art, design, fashion and nature.

 

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

Find a hobby that you love.

 

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

Tennis! Or a hot bath. Ideally, both!
