HSN
Several cable networks get a lot of press attention and free publicity from the pop-culture machine that helps fuel high-profile shows, brands and ratings. HSN isn’t one of them. But it’s an icon just the same. Home shopping was where it all began, and HSN continues to innovate on multiple platforms and integrate interactive features into the TV environment. This isn’t your mother’s home shopping – and increasingly it’s a place where talent and opportunity can make for a stimulating and rewarding career. Not only does HSN offer perks like insurance covering everything from pets to legal services to homes, but the net also offers on-site car detailing, oil changes, dry cleaning, and an employee store. It also provides wellness screenings. And perhaps best of all, employees get nice discounts on HSN merchandise, as well as select restaurants, travel services and fitness centers. Meanwhile, its Flexible Work Arrangements program provides for customized work schedules and telecommuting options, while a Talent Development program includes instructor-led programs and an online learning program lets employees complete certifications and continuing education. And it may come as no surprise, but HSN is a great place for women: 50% of its executive leaders are women, who make up 66% of overall employees (58% women sit at the director and above level). If you’re looking for a new job, here’s our advice: Start shopping.
