Thanks to ESPN’s support in 8 focus geographic locations, Special Olympics added 7,853 new Unified Sports athletes and partners, with additional participants to be reported in Q1-Q2 this year following key Unified Sports trainings and competitions. As Unified Sports expands, the need to measure certified Unified coaches has become increasingly important. Through ESPN’s effort, 290 new Unified Sports coaches have been certified as reported from September – December 2013 in the initial trainings across 8 key geographic markets.
