Ed Carroll
Ed Carroll
Title: COO, AMC Networks (pictured, the one who is not Jon Hamm or made of wax)
Years in Cable: 28
Education: SUNY New Paltz
After one of AMC Networks’ most impressive years in terms of ratings, critical acclaim and expansion, Carroll is already building on those successes. In the past year, ratings of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” grew to heights even broadcast network COOs might envy; IFC and SundanceTV originals garnered critical acclaim; and WEtv broadened its appeal to a wider audience. But Carroll’s focus on international expansion —acquiring both BBC America and Chellomedia (now AMC Networks International)—may be his smartest move yet.
