Earlier this year Viacom restructured its network groups, with Herzog heading up the newly-formed Viacom Music and Entertainment Group and Zarghami overseeing the expanded Viacom Kids and Family Group. The division of labor allows each exec to focus their considerable strengths on opposite ends of the cable spectrum. Given their exemplary histories with Viacom, this could turn out as a pretty smart way to help the company’s networks band together to maximize their collective impact with social media and cross-channel marketing, which is top of mind for top dog Philippe Dauman.

Favorite Cable Show Memory: Dawn of the 80’s, Vegas. Not sure if it was the Cable Show but it was the day after St. Patrick’s Day. Ted rolls into the CNN booth at around 11 in green pants. Me: “Hey, Ted. Why the green pants? St. Patrick’s Day was yesterday.” Ted: “Yeah, I know. I fell asleep in my clothes last night and didn’t feel like changing this morning.”
