Debi Picciolo
Picciolo is the highest-ranking woman in technical operations for Time Warner Cable in a particularly visible area for the company. She has managed to break through in a traditionally male-dominated field, overseeing 17,000 TWC employees who ultimately serve the entire residential market for the company—nearly 15 million customers. Among her key strengths is her uncanny ability to quickly and efficiently assess a need and then formulate a plan to address it, which is critical in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Does the TWC-Comcast merger weigh heavily on her mind? Nah. “These deals represent the evolution and changing face of our industry—and change is what I love and thrive on!,” she says.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
It would definitely have to be industry consolidation, including our planned merger with Comcast–and Comcast’s subsequent deal with Charter–as well as the AT&T and DirecTV deal. These deals represent the evolution and changing face of our industry—and change is what I love and thrive on!
How do you define a successful career?
A successful career is one that makes you happy and truly enjoy going to work every day, while being passionate about the work and the people. It is about making a difference in what you do as an individual and how you impact others.
When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?
When I am not working, you’ll find me with my husband and kids. Although these days, we need to schedule time together since our kids are in college and have developed into strong independent people.
