CNBC took a hard look at the crisis within the Veteran Affairs Department, and the result is investigative reporting at its finest. Oh, and by the way… this documentary was done 5 months BEFORE the scandal broke. Perhaps one of the most poignant moments of this excellent doc was a clip from President Obama saying he’d strengthened the VA as well as a refusal to comment by Secretary Shinseki, who later was forced to resign as the head of the government’s second-largest department. The tales of mismanagement, negligence and very poor medical practices are told in great detail here, and it’s ultimately an important piece of journalism about a scandal that should give us all pause.
