Yes, we know. Should we really be honoring a show that seems to bring out the darker sides of maternal instincts? Of course. What could be more entertaining than that? So while it’s true that we don’t necessarily admire the idea that children should be put under so much pressure to dance, dance, dance… we do admire the ability of this show’s producers to consistently shine a light on a subculture of intense parenting and how our fast-paced, take no prisoners world helps make it all possible. This may be a show about Dance Moms, but it’s also a show about all of us.
