Not only is Wilson-Scott one of Comcast’s top female executives, she’s instrumental in Comcast NBCUniversal’s community outreach, philanthropic and corporate responsibility initiatives. In April, the annual Comcast Cares Day saw 105,000 corporate volunteers contribute more than 600,000 hours of service to work 1,000-plus projects across the globe. Wilson-Scott is always finding creative new ways to use the company’s media and technology to benefit struggling communities. As a mentor, she says it’s important to share failures as well as successes because vulnerabilities make people more relatable. Her advice to mentees: “Pursue mentors that bring entirely different perspectives than you might bring—not ones that will always agree with you.”
