Washington’s role expanded last year to include government affairs in the state of Tennessee. She focuses on legislative and regulatory issues that will impact SNI’s ability to conduct business and attract and retain a talented workforce in HQ state. Washington is also focusing this year to spearhead the implementation of a enterprise-wide document management and contracting system. Outside the office, she serves NAMIC as a national board member, adviser, mentor and as co-chair of the NAMIC conference planning committee and is a mentor for the WICT Mentoring Circles program. Washington applauds the industry’s commitment to participate in NAMIC’s AIM study and WICT’s PAR study, she says, “The obvious question remains that now that the information is shared what are the short- and long-term commitments to continue to move the needle?”
