Claudia Teran
As she heads into 2015, Teran’s priorities include continuing to discover new and creative approaches to content delivery across all non-linear platforms, including broadband and OTT as well as VOD. She’s also looking to anticipate change in order to capitalize on new business opportunities. “The most successful careers I’ve seen have been those where leaders have invested in their teams at the same time as investing in themselves,” Teran says.
How do you define a successful career?
I see a successful career as one where someone has taken opportunities to constantly learn new things, to evolve, and to challenge themselves and others around them to be better. The most successful careers I’ve seen have been those where leaders have invested in their teams at the same time as investing in themselves—those are the teams that most often lead an organization forward, and allow more people to feel tangible success.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
I have no idea how one does that successfully… but I will say that a step in the right direction is to have a partner/friends/family that understand the demands of your professional life, and who also have a sense of humor while reminding you to tend to your personal life (before you abandon it completely). I really want to read what others have found as their best tricks!
When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?
Usually running around LA (or if I’m really lucky, another city that I’m getting to know), trying new restaurants, going to a new museum or gallery, or simply getting more time w friends and family, which is what helps to get perspective on every day.
