Cindy Brown
Brown was promoted to her new position after helping make 2013 the best year yet for HGTV and DIY Network. She now leads the research department and heads up program planning for Scripps’ entire home category—including HGTV, DIY and Great American Country. She says diversity goes beyond race, gender, religion or culture: “It includes our different experiences and ideas. Today, diversity means everyone and everything.”
What’s the definition of diversity in 2014, and how can the cable industry do better in the area of inclusiveness?
Diversity does not just include race, gender, religion or cultural backgrounds, it includes our different experiences and ideas. Today, diversity means everyone and everything. The cable industry should always continue to improve their hiring policies and practices to ensure their attracting a wide range of individuals.
