Frymark oversees all communications outreach and strategy for the office of the CEO as well as Discovery’s domestic business units. She also leads the company’s internal communications and employee engagement efforts, CSR, client relations, corporate social media and more. A few recent wins for Frymark: Leading the communications strategy for Discovery GO’s launch, Discovery VR’s launch and the company’s first Investor Day. The well-liked and well-respected executive is active in the community, through serving on the national board of WICT and as president of the ACC board. Advice she’d give to her 13-year-old self is threefold: “Read more books, eat fewer Ho-Ho’s… and listen to your mother!”
Which sector of the cable industry best demonstrates gender equality?
I’ve been so excited to see more female producers, showrunners, and GMs across cable… from Ava Duvernay at OWN to Patrice Andrews at Animal Planet.
Which could use some enlightenment?
As always, I wish to see more women in tech and engineering roles… underscores the important of getting school-age girls hooked on STEM subjects at an early age… something Discovery and Discovery Education have gotten behind in a big way.
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
Read more books, eat fewer Ho-Ho’s… and listen to your mother!
