Carolyn Terry
Starting as an entry-level installer at Comcast, Terry now runs head-end operations at Time Warner Cable. In between the two jobs, she pulled stints at Adelphia, Altrio Communications and Digeo. Terry believes the career possibilities in cable for women are limitless, if cable can focus more efforts on recruiting, promoting and keeping more women in engineering and technology fields.

By focusing more efforts on recruiting, promoting and keeping more women in engineering and technology fields –which today include fewer than 6 percent of women.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
Industry consolidation – particularly the Comcast/Time Warner Cable merger.
How do you define a successful career?
One that meets your own personal objectives for fulfillment and happiness.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
I stopped trying and instead chose to look at it differently. I ask myself, am I happy in all areas of my life? If the answer is yes, I have achieved personal and professional balance. If the answer is no, I have to work on the choices I am making in certain areas.
When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?
I have very diverse interests, so I am usually doing many different things with my partner, family and our dog, Riley.
