The most impressive thing about DOCSIS 3.1 development is how fast everything was—from the speed at which the specifications were developed to how quickly CableLabs, vendors and operators began working together to bring product to market. CableLabs has optimized its approach to interoperability, qualification and certification to support rapid deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 products. As a result, 3.1 specifications were developed 40% faster than previous DOCSIS projects.
