She developed the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions, which throughout 2015 saw Velocity air 100 hours of live coverage of Barrett-Jackson auctions that earned the network 8 million-plus live viewers, and she’s built a strong network relationship with NASCAR legend Ray Evernham. Her most cherished tech item? In-flight wifi.
What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?
I am most excited about tech evolution for content viewing. Viewing media through immersive tech experiences (Virtual Reality, 360 TV) is an unparalleled promotional tool to hook audiences on must-see content. Plus it’s awesome.
What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
The guiding principle of my school growing up was “Esse Quam Videri” (To be, rather than to seem). Our principal always reinforced this message to the students. In my personal and professional life, I always try to apply this.
What is one habit that makes you most successful?
Rarely taking “no” for an answer.
What tech item or social platform could/couldn’t you live without?
In-flight wifi.
Who has been your biggest mentor and why?
Velocity GM Bob Scanlon. After a 25+ year career in motorsports, he championed a winning cable network formula for a genre he is truly passionate about – cars. He has been a tireless brand advocate for Velocity since it’s founding in 2011 and his passion is evident in every series on our slate.
What three things make you most successful?
Self-motivation, keeping a results-oriented attitude, and creating elaborate color-coded to-do lists.
