Abbott’s not a kid, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting it to be Christmas every day. After Hallmark Channel scored record ratings for its 24/7 Christmas countdown last year—and its biggest-ever audience day on Nov. 29 for “Christmas Under Wraps”—he’s started repeating the round-the-clock themed programming for other holidays, beginning with Valentine’s Day. June weddings, Halloween, Thanksgiving and back-to-school time are also on the list. This year Abbott has other plans in the works to grow Hallmark Channel and sister Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as increased collaborations with Hallmark retail stores for content and marketing.
