His company is marking milestone after milestone: Roku’s digital video player, first introduced in May ’08, reached 1mln units sold in ’10; back in January ’10, Wood predicted that Roku, which had about two dozen channels at the time, would have more than 100 on its platform by the end of the year. Indeed, Roku ended the year with 135 channels. Early in January ’11, the company served its 1 billionth stream of content.
