The Florida Region is at the forefront of Comcast’s efforts to bring fiber-optic cable all the way to customers’ homes, and Smith is at the forefront of the charge. The implementation protocol developed in Florida last year is expected to become the model for future Comcast FTTP deployments throughout the country. Also in 2014, Smith oversaw the opening of five Xfinity stores in the Florida region. Perhaps one reason she’s able to maneuver so well in the ever-changing world of cable is that away from work Smith is an accomplished equestrienne and competes in events along the East Coast.
