Some of the best children’s shows are the ones that parents can enjoy almost as much as the kids. We’re not exactly sure what Gumball is (a cat with a rabbit father?), but we can totally relate to his junior high awkwardness. Think of it as a zanier, animated “Wonder Years,” where Winnie is an antlered peanut named Penny Fitzgerald. Yes, the animation is over-the-top and so are some of the storylines, but at its silly heart, Amazing World of Gumball is full of relatable characters who bring enough realism to an imaginary world that you’ll almost forget you’re watching a living peanut and blue, cat-like creature make googly eyes at each other. Almost!
