We asked our own Kate Schaeffer, Cablefax’s director of marketing and events, how she spends her free time when not whipping up fantastic events for the pay TV industry. For one, she volunteers as the Program Director for Camp Tomahawk, which is a day camp in Annapolis, MD, happening one week in July and 100% run by volunteers. Each year there’s a different theme; volunteers need to plan and organize seven stations consisting of more than 50 week-long volunteers. More than 400 scouts attend the camp, Kate tells us, and she’s volunteered for the past six summers. It’s truly a family affair, we learned. Her husband Mike also volunteers and their three, scout boys attend (ages 8, 10 and 13).

Curious about the picture above? Here’s the scoop: The camp ran out of ice and she had to go to Sam’s Club by herself for 600 lbs of ice! Now that’s commitment. Below she’s pictured with her husband Mike.
