TVN will be the exclusive distributor of The Karaoke Channel, a VOD channel featuring 300-500 songs from parent Sound Choice’s library of titles. Ops can chose to make the channel available on free VOD or SVOD. So far, Advanced, Armstrong, Bend, Blue Ridge, Buckeye, Champion, Click, Muscatine, Shrewsbury, Sunflower, Verizon and Wave have signed on for carriage. — Happy 2nd birthday to Concert, the VOD network turned 2 Mon. The indie specializing in live music has grown from 3mln HHs to more than 13mln through deals with Comcast, Cox, Charter, Adelphia and others via In Demand and TVN. Impressive for a net that’s still based out of co-founder/pres Michael Shimbo’s NY loft (where he still lives). Concert’s achieved the holy grail of VOD by establishing a business model as an ad-supported, non-linear network with blue chip advertisers, including Coca-Cola. — Shirley Brady
