Going forward, Verizon Wireless smartphone subscribers now have a choice of three data plans: 2 gigabytes (GB) of data use per month for $30; 5GB for $50; or 10GB for $80. Overages will cost $10 per each additional gigabyte per month.
Verizon Wireless smartphone and tablet customers will begin to receive text message alerts when their data usage crosses thresholds of 50 percent, 75 percent, 90 percent, 100 percent and 110 percent of their data plans’ monthly allowances.
Users on unlimited data plans can have those plans grandfathered, until further notice.
