Time Warner Cable tapped Sam Howe, svp, marketing for voice, to serve as chief marketing officer. He replaces Chuck Ellis, who stepped down Mar 1 to devote more time to charity work. Brian Kelly is out as svp, corporate marketing. Instead, he’s taking on the post of regional svp, marketing and sales mgmt, for the MSO’s Carolina region. It’s the 1st time TW will have a marketing head for regions. Previously, marketing heads supervised divisions. Other regional heads will be named. TW also is launching a marketing council that Howe will head to develop and ensure a common approach to marketing efforts (in other words, it’s looking to get its ducks in a row with Verizon and SBC launching national and regional campaigns).
