Tom Rogers keeps inking cable deals for TiVo. The latest is a Cablevision winback deal, with the MSO launching a trial in Oct that provides DBS subs with a TiVo DVR and wireless router when they sign up for CVC’s triple-play bundle. The TiVo boxes will be available solely to ex-DBS subs as Cablevision tries to go after dishheads that have an affinity for the brand. The announcement comes on the heels of TiVo deals with Cebridge, NCTC and Comcast. Meanwhile, the DVR maker posted its 1st-ever net profit Wed, recording $240K in the plus column for 2Q. That compares to a $10.mln loss a year ago. Revenue climbed 46% to $40.7mln. TiVo added 254K subs during the Q, though only 40K were TiVo-owned subscriptions. DirecTV accounted for 214K of the new net subscriptions; it will shift to NDS DVR boxes in the fall.
