Those older-skewing, multi-platform channels Viacom vet John Sykes was working on never materialized, and now the pres of network dev is leaving MTVN. A spokesperson confirmed the departure, saying the decision was Sykes’. He rejoined his old stomping ground in ’05 from Infinity with much fanfare. Sykes was tasked with overseeing the development and launch of new branded nets. There was some buzz that they would end up being Baby Boomer-focused broadband channels as opposed to linear plays, but nothing ever launched.
