It’s smart marketing, given the demo of the area and the arresting features of the actresses, but we had to wonder if it hadn’t caused a few fender benders, given its placement on a heavily traveled stretch of road. A desk sergeant at the 78th precinct told us there hadn’t been a sudden rash of accidents on 4th Ave of late before giving his tacit approval of the sign. "That’s on what, Showtime?" he asked. "I gotta get cable."
