John D. Schanz will serve as chairman of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2009 program committee. Schanz is executive vice president, national engineering and technical operations, with Comcast.

In other SCTE news, early-bird registration for Expo 2009 is now underway. The show is set for Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28-30, in Denver. Expo, traditionally conducted in June each year, has moved down the calendar to be a part of the new Cable Connection-Fall.
