The SCTE Foundation announced grants to Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) members Terry Gaskill of Cox Communications and Dan Wu of Samsung Electronics America.

Gaskill, of Broken Arrow, Okla., is a technical training manager with Cox. He is applying his major grant toward a bachelor of science in business from St. Gregory’s University, College for Working Adults. Gaskill has been an SCTE member since 1998.

Wu, of Ridgefield Park, N.J., is a regional STB engineer with Samsung. He is putting his major grant toward a bachelor of science in telecommunications from DeVry University. Wu has been an SCTE member since 2002.

The SCTE Foundation was established by the SCTE Board of Directors in 2005 and began issuing grants in 2006. The Foundation has helped numerous SCTE members by distributing grants totaling almost $130,000. All of the financial assistance that the SCTE Foundation provides to SCTE members is made possible through donations from generous individuals and organizations within the cable telecommunications industry.
