Cox’s Jim Robbins took issue with a Feb 23 WSJ article ("Time Warner’s Phone Service Shows Cable’s Growing Clout") that he says mischaracterized the MSO’s phone service as "unsuccessful and slow to roll out." "We applaud Time Warner Cable for its aggressive move into telephony and for bringing choice in local phone service to consumers in its markets. Time Warner’s deployment strategy is different than ours, and we hope they will be every bit as successful as Cox has been," Robbins wrote in a letter to the editor Mar 9. He noted Cox’s 1.3mln phone subs (more than any MSO) and its #1 JD Power customer satisfaction ranking for the Western region.
