Spending on new media (cable, DBS and satellite radio) advertising is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 16.9 % by ’09, while traditional media advertising will rise 4.2 % during the same period, a Veronis Suhler Stevenson forecast concludes. Other findings: by ’09 the average person is expected to spend 10 hrs/day with media and the communications industry should top $1 tln dollars by ’09, becoming the 4th largest and fastest-growing sector of the US economy.
