Thousands of people are buying VoIP telephony from local cable operators, but according to a "Digital Life In America" study released Wed by Ziff-Davis, just 4% of people surveyed for the report say they expect to buy VoIP before the end of ’05. Another 2% claim they bought VoIP in the first half of ’05. More than 1K people nationwide were surveyed. More people were interested in buying digital cameras, desktop PCs and photo printers. Ziff-Davis offered the study in advance of its DigitalLife event in NY this Oct, expected to draw more than 35K people. – Simon Applebaum
