Showtime rolls out a comedy block Aug 10 featuring "Barbershop" and "Weeds," with Mary-Louise Parker as a desperate housewife who sells pot to pay the bills. — Discovery Channel and the BBC sent top scientists to the seabed site of the Asian Tsunami; a special will run as "Journey to the Heart of the Tsunami" later this year. — DIRECTV added 3 Indian-language channels from Eenadu TV to its lineup. — CNN is gearing up a new afternoon block (3-6pm) this summer hosted by Wolf Blitzer. The block replaces "Crossfire" and "Inside Politics." CNN said in Jan Crossfire was dead wood; Inside’s star faded when host Judy Woodruff stepped down recently. — The Golf Channel begins coverage of the NCAA mens/womens finals Wed (1amET). — TV One has a special "One on One" with Queen Latifah (May 22, 10pm). — Longshot Derby winner Giacomo was no surprise to TVG anchor Ken Rudolph, who’d been saying for weeks the 3-yr-old’s pedigree, training and experience made the colt a sleeper. — IFC confirmed it’s moving into scripted series, launching 3 in Aug. VP Debbie DeMontreaux will oversee them. — Worth a look tonight: a process story yes, but with great detail and a fine payoff, the capture of Saddam ("Ace in the Hole," Military Channel, 8pm).
