Time Warner Cable subs in NY were able to watch last night’s Mets-Cubs game thanks to a multi-yr deal that returns MSG Network, Fox Sports Net NY and 3 other Fox Sports diginets to the MSO’s lineup. Neither TW nor Cablevision talked particulars, but the deal does not include carriage of Cablevision’s Metro Channels. While the biggest sticking point was price, TW repeatedly questioned the value of the Metro Channels, which were tied to the sports nets. The companies made peace last night at 6 ET, after an all-day session with NY att genl Elliot Spitzer. 1st pitch for last night’s game was set for 7:30pm. TW dropped the nets in early March after it was unable to reach a carriage extension with CVC. While TW agreed to carry MSG for more than a year, MSG won’t be carrying Mets games next season-that honor goes to the still-unnamed TW/Comcast regional sports net, which will show 125 of the ball club’s ’06 contests.
