Title: Vice president, Standards, SCTE (http://www.scte.org) Recent news: The ANSI Board of Directors re-elected Oksala to a second three-year term as a vice chairman of the ANSI board. About the ANSI/SCTE relationship: The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system. Its mission is "to enhance both the global competitiveness of U.S. business and the U.S. quality of life by promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment systems, and safeguarding their integrity." "I am very pleased to continue to provide leadership to the ANSI programs," Oksala says. "ANSI has been an important factor in the national and international credibility of the SCTE Standards Program, so it’s nice to be able to give something back on behalf of the cable industry." SCTE standards approval to date: SCTE has received ANSI approval for 139 of its 140 cable telecommunications standards. SCTE standards cover a wide range of industry needs, from F connectors to protocols for high-speed data access over cable. Want more info on SCTE’s standards program?
