The lineup for today’s DTV hearing includes NCTA’s Kyle McSlarrow, Barrington Broadcasting’s James Yager on behalf of NAB, ACA rep/Sunflower Broadband’s Patrick Knorr, Rick Chessen of the FCC, Circuit City CEO Alan McCollough, Telemundo gm Manuel Abud, CEA’s Gary Shapiro and, of course, the Corduroy Crew’s Gene Kimmelman. — FCC commish Jonathan Adelstein advocated prominent disclosure of paid content shown on cable and broadcast. "Some will tell you that if broadcasters and cable companies insist on further commercializing news and other shows alike, that is their business. But if they do so without disclosing it to the viewing public, that is payola, and that is the FCC’s business," he told a Media Institute lunch.
