Time Warner Cable’s 15th Natl Teachers Awards in DC Tues warmed our heart. "Thank you Time Warner Cable for treating us like Teacher Oscar winners," one educator said. Award- winning projects incorporated cable technology and programming (ranging from Nick’s "SpongeBob Squarepants" to HGTV’s "Simply Quilts"), and it was moving to hear teacher after teacher thanking cable for the advances it had brought to their classroom. Especially nice to see evp Lynn Yaeger surprised with a crystal apple award for starting the initiative 15 years ago. — Former Time Warner Interactive Video chmn/CEO and Mystro sage Joe Collins presents the Dan Aaron Lecture for Innovative Mgmt at CTAM’s exec mgmt program at Harvard Business School, June 16. CTAM’s program is sold out with 75 participants. Also speaking Starz’s John Sie, and Rainbow’s Josh Sapan. — Viacom [VIA] and the Kaiser Family Foundation teamed with ad agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky on 13 testing-focused PSAs as part of the "Know HIV/AIDS" campaign. The 1st ads begin this week. A 2nd wave debuts in the fall. — Sci-Fi Channel’s marketing team scored a gold Effie Award Tues for its work on the Spielberg alien mini "Taken."
