Ooyala has entered into a partnership with NTT Smartconnect, a subsidiary of NTT Holdings, an Asian telecommunications company, to sell a localized and co-branded version of its video platform in Japan, beginning in February 2010.

NTT Smartconnect provides enterprises in Japan with housing, hosting, and streaming media solutions. This partnership will allow NTT Smartconnect’s customers to gain access to Ooyala’s video platform, allowing companies to easily transcode, manage, distribute and monetize their video content.

“Video is becoming an important asset in all of our customers’ online media strategies because it efficiently conveys messages and ideas,” said Mitsuyoshi Okamoto, president of NTT Smartconnect, in a statement.
