C-SPAN was named NCTC programmer of the year at the co-op’s annual convention, being held through Wed in Orlando. Vendor of the year winner was Toner Cable Equipment, a "Platinum Vendor" with a MFN for the co-op. CBC Marketing received NCTC’s special service award for helping small operators afford a variety of marketing materials. — NCTC’s exhibit floor was bustling Mon, with plenty of programmers and vendors pressing the flesh-119 companies are exhibiting. This year’s conference attracted a record 944 attendees, including more than 230 reps from 130 independent operators. — Comcast Media Center is boasting that it has added more than a half-dozen digital nets to its lineup since last year’s NCTC meeting, including Anime, CSTV and TV One. It’s also added TV Guide’s Allison Olien and TechTV’s Craig Wilmes to its affiliate sales team. — ACA elected its board members Mon, with New Wave’s James Gleason appointed as chmn. Sunflower Broadband’s Pat Knorr will serve as vice chmn.
