“Enhanced Routing,” a new offering within Transaction Network Services’ e-Identity solution suite, is a managed service that delivers “the functionality of a first class, least-cost-routing (LCR) solution with the benefits of a hosted service,” the company says.

Enhanced Routing reportedly can reduce long distance costs while allowing calls to be handled based on other criteria like quality of service or bilateral agreements. “The ability to selectively route traffic across multiple partners gives services providers a competitive edge and improves negotiating power,” TNS adds. Other features include such intelligent routing services as Enhanced 8XX, local number portability and carrier ENUM, giving carriers access to improved routing and direct peering with a single query.??

And because Enhanced Routing is a managed service, additional costs to terminate to non-traditional carriers can be eliminated with the peering and specialized override functionality, an offering unique to TNS, the company says: “This unique automation of the interconnection process offers efficiency gains while extensive reporting allows evaluation and insight into areas such as traffic patterns, identifying and avoiding rate sheet errors, and profitability analysis.”?
