Proposed ITV gaming service PlayTV has signed 2 deals with operators, and expects to announce what games will be available on the service in the next few weeks, pres/CEO Ron Chaimowitz says. The gaming service expects to launch early next year. PlayTV won’t go after hardcore gamers, but will focus on an underserved female audience and Baby Boomers. It also plans to have preschool games. — Comcast programming heads Matt Bond and Amy Banse caution those seeking to launch linear channels that it’s nearly impossible and recommend they take the VOD route instead, CableWORLD (June 21) reports.
