On Demand Group, a SeaChange International Company, has announced that its On Demand Deutschland joint venture with Tele München Gruppe will provide video-on-demand (VOD) content and services for German cable operator Kabel BW. The agreement will allow Kabel BW to make major film and TV series titles available to its subscribers as part of a new VOD service to be launched in early 2010.

“On Demand Deutschland was formed to jumpstart the introduction of VOD and pay-per-view television in German-speaking regions, and our agreement with Kabel BW means we are now working with Germany’s three largest cable operators,” said Tony Kelly, CEO, On Demand Group, in a statement.

Kabel BW is deploying its VOD platform using back-office software from eventIS, also a SeaChange Company. The platform will include eventIS’s TRAXIS, SPECTRIS and PRODIS systems.
