JDSU has announced that Openreach, the local access network division of BT Group, has selected JDSU’s HST-3000 handheld broadband access tester.

BT Group plans to deliver advanced broadband services at speeds of 40 Mbps to 10 million premises in the U.K. by 2012. The JDSU HST-3000 supports the installation and maintenance of these services. Openreach owns and manages the local access network that connects homes and businesses across the U.K. and provides network services to communications providers.

For use in testing of next-generation FTTx technologies, the JDSU HST-3000 tests the physical layer, verifies services and improves network operations processes.
