Don’t Forget To File CPNI Paperwork
Telecom carriers and interconnected VoIP providers must file their annual reports certifying protection of Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) to the FCC by March 1. CPNI includes such personal stuff as phone numbers related to calls made/received, the frequency of calls, etc. In prior years, many companies failed to file their paperwork or they filed certificates that didn’t pass commission muster. Such operators could be liable for fines as high as $150,000 for each violation, to a maximum of $1.5 million.
