Laticom, a U.S.-based IP telecommunications and technology company, has selected Genband to enable the modernization and Internet Protocol (IP) transformation of Honduras’ nationwide communications network. Hondutel, the largest telecommunications company in Honduras, is responsible for the country’s telecommunications systems. Through a unique contract alliance approved by the Honduran Congress, Laticom will deploy and oversee Hondutel’s nationwide expansion of IP-based multimedia broadband services. Utilizing the Genband Genius platform, Hondutel will deliver advanced telephony, data, IP and integrated multimedia services to its customers.

Through Laticom, Genband is providing Hondutel the essential IP infrastructure for call control, session border control, applications, signaling, voicemail and traffic and policy management, all via the software-centric Genius platform, which is capable of delivering all of these functions via industry standard, ATCA-based hardware with one common operating system and management system.
