Hiring has slowed as the year winds down, a combination of the holiday lull and lags engendered by the budget approval process. A few high-profile exec searches are just picking up steam, however. NCTA is searching for Robert Sachs’ replacement and Lifetime must replace Carole Black. Mass Ave also is aggressively searching for a replacement for CIC exec dir Peggy O’Brien, who stepped down in Sept to return to PBS. That search got a little more complicated when Sachs decided to step down; O’Brien’s successor would report to Sach’s replacement. Exec search firm Isaacson Miller is amassing a list of candidates; it recruited O’Brien to join CIC. "We are seeking someone who can build and sustain strong relationships in the national education community and someone who can rally people and resources within the cable industry," NCTA’s Rob Stoddard says. — Mavis Scanlon
