Cox will announce today that it’s given San Diego customers the ability to record and play back HD programming using an HD DVR service via the Scientific Atlanta HD8010 set top. In addition to San Diego, the service will be rolling out in its Gulf Coast and Gainesville, FL, markets, as well as Santa Barbara, CA, Phoenix, Las Vegas, OK City, NC and N VA. Cox also will augment services available to current DVR customers with: a recording space used indicator; an auto erase for the oldest recordings; enhanced all-episode recording; and a copy to VCR function. — Food Network, DIY, Fine Living and HGTV are each shooting 2 specials in HD, CableWORLD (June 21) reports.
